Bautista has not started the season very well at SBK but hopes to reverse the situation this weekend at Misano.

Álvaro Bautista wants to take a step forward in Misano. The Spanish rider did not start the season well at SBK, without positive feelings and with the clear intention of improving his performance on the Italian track this weekend. Neither he nor his teammate Leon Haslam are having a good start to the year with Honda. Both have encountered many difficulties and hope to reverse the situation.

“The last race weekend left us with mixed feelings. We felt like we left some of our potential untapped there and we hope to improve this weekend”, explains Bautista. The Spaniard, even so, indicates that he arrives at Misano with a good mentality and with the aim of adapting as soon as possible to the track: “We will work to find the feeling we had in Aragon. Our main objective is to have a well balanced motorcycle to adapt to all of them. the conditions and to each track”.

Bautista has acknowledged that Misano is a track that he likes a lot and points out that he is very happy to see fans in the stands: “One thing that makes me very happy is that we will finally have some fans in the stands. A limited number Sure, but it’s a first step”. “Misano is a track that I enjoy a lot and it is very different from both Aragón and Estoril, so we will try to find a good set-up”, he adds.

For his part, León Haslam remembers perfectly when he got on the podium in 2019. That is why he wants to go back to Misano and rediscover feelings: “I really like the track, of course, and I was on the podium the last time we raced. there in 2019”. “Now I really want to ride there and work to try to find the good feeling we had this winter”, he says.
