Valentino Rossi’s parents talk about their son’s future. The Italian rider has no intention of retiring mid-season.

In Spain has emerged the hypothesis of a possible retirement of Valentino Rossi this summer, remember that the Italian will decide his future depending on the next races. However, this information has no basis since the MotoGP champion has the feeling that he can still renew for one more year since Rossi considers that the results come from Sachsenring and Assen. Moreover, the Italian’s family for the moment denies the information that has emerged in Spain: “You who know him well, do you really believe that Valentino is someone who leaves his things unfinished?”, are the words of Rossi’s mother Stefania to ‘Il Resto del Carlino’.

The people who know him best

Rossi’s mother is almost a track engineer but how can she not be with a nine-time world champion for a son? She recites the data from the last MotoGP test held at Montmelo after Sunday’s race: “These are the laps covered by the riders in the test at the Barcelona circuit on Monday after the GP … 72 laps by Valentino Rossi”. So what does Mrs. Palma mean with that data? She had no problem explaining it to the correspondent of the daily Pesaro: “In your opinion, do you think that a rider who intends to stop racing in two weeks is completing 72 test laps to better understand the problems with his bike?”.

However, for Stefania Palma the real problem is that both in fast lap and in the race the Yamaha M1 of ‘Il Dottore’ fails to reach its best limit: “The thing is that this Yamaha is strange, it goes well in practice and explodes in the race – adds Valentino Rossi’s mother -. Valentino continues to do what he has always done. I can assure you that he is rightly angry, but certainly not discouraged”.

The Pesaro daily was also able to speak to Rossi’s father, Graziano Rossi, and the former rider admitted that the Italian is going through one of the hardest moments of his career but with some hope for the future. He also stresses that the veteran rider would never leave the competition in the middle of the season: “Valentino is a man of his word, he said that in the middle of the season he will decide his future as a rider. But as for next year, not this year. Honestly, I don’t know anything else. However, he was pretty pissed off”.
